Dialogue on Student Support

Are your students facing personal and academic challenges? We want to hear from you!

FACULTY DIALOGUE ON STUDENT SUPPORT AND MENTAL HEALTH IN THE CLASSROOM

Tues April 25, 2017 8:30am – 1:00pm in the Gallery T Building

Organized by the Academic Plan Action Group – Student Support and the Mental Health Working Group

You are invited to join us in a peer to peer conversation on strategies to integrate student and academic supports and foster a mentally healthy environment for students and faculty.

During the first part of the session, participants will be provided with an overview of student and faculty supports available at Langara and collaborate on how to meet common challenges faculty face with our evolving student population. You will have a chance to meet and connect with various members of academic support and student services departments (e.g. Counselling, International Education, Writing Centre, etc.) as they contribute and facilitate the dialogues.

After the break, participants will engage in a World Cafe discussion where we will be looking for your input to help lay the foundation for Langara’s Mental Health framework.

A light breakfast and Langara’s famous Indian buffet lunch will be served.
