Apr 28 – IT maintenance outage

As a part of an ongoing commitment to maintain services, Langara IT continually enhances and upgrades systems and software. 

This notification outlines an upcoming maintenance window for operating system patching. 

Network Maintenance 

Date/Times(s) Sunday, April 28 (07:00 am–07:00 pm)
Type Application and OS upgrade/patching
  • Apply security patches to backend servers supporting Banner services
  • Upgrade database infrastructure supporting Citrix
  • Apply OS patches to IT servers
User Impact

The following campus services will be unavailable between 7AM and 1PM:

  • Student Records, Finance, and HR systems (Banner)
  • myLangara Portal
  • myLangara Student email

These services will experience outages up to 1 hour each between 7AM and 7PM:

  • MyLibrary (before 11AM)
  • Citrix in labs and offices
  • Network drives for students and employees
  • myFiles
  • Printing

These services will be available:  

  • College Website
  • 0365 employee email 
  • Sharepoint
  • Brightspace by D2L
  • Internet and WIFI
  • Telephone system
  • Emergency systems

Note: Maintenance windows are selected to minimize the down-time as much as possible for critical College systems.

If you have classes or exams scheduled during the maintenance period in computer labs or will be requiring AV services, please reach out to IT Help before Wednesday, April 24 to ensure no impact will occur.
